1.Hello! I am Martin Nguyen and I was raised here in Santa Ana in April 19, 2003. I am currently 13 years old and I am in 8th grade enrolling at Mendez Fundamental. I am very thankful to have this family by my side supporting me wherever I go. My younger brother, my mom and dad help each other no matter what happens. I am a kid who has many nicknames given to by my teachers and fellow friends. I am a "talented" person by-all means that I play the piano, I can solve the Rubik's cube insanely fast and I am also a great ping pong player. The languages I primarily speak are English, Vietnamese and French. How I got to this point is due to the support of my friends and family. I set my goals very high in order to reach them and to excel past it. As Einstein said, "Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them." One quote that has kept pushing me to strive harder, is a quote I made, "If you have a dream catch it, and see where it takes you. :)
2. My short term learning goals are to interact with my teachers better, exercising every day to stay in shape. My medium term goals is to get straight A's if not then at least 1 B, joining video calls with my friends to keep in touch and to have fun with them. My long term goals is to go to an UC school, become a computer engineer, practice both my piano and Rubik's cube. In my goals, I have started to improve when I first started them but I wish it would be a bit better on the grades. What I want to continue to work on is to practice piano, play with my Rubik's cube and studying really hard on quizzes, tests, and etc. What I learned about myself in the last 3 months is that I am very consistent with my grades and is very active in both mental and physical way.
3. I am currently improving in my personal learning goals in the start of the second semester. I mainly have to stay consistent with my grades and keep up the good work I do. I have to keep studying for the quizzes, tests, and assessments. My viewpoint on the goals hasn't drastically changed. My MAP scores has increased since the last time I took the test. The areas I need to work on Informational text since I got a yellow color on that. The other parts of area I got a green color and I'm currently doing well in that area. What I hope to achieve in the next MAP Test in Spring is to get obviously a higher score and also to have all green in all of the critical areas.
